If/When Flightaware pushes out an automatic update, is it a image or a patch?

For example are wireless parameters, etc. saved on update?.

It wouldn’t be an image - since that would need a mechanism to replace what’s on the SD card … but, I believe, they can update almost anything else

It’s a patch and won’t nuke your WiFi settings. That’s one of the big advantages of the auto-update vs installing a new image.

Thanks - that is the answer I wanted. Going to install a couple pi’s hundreds of miles away and it’s all about minimum local site maintenance.

Will the auto update work on the Piaware add on option. I am not using the SD card image.

sudo piaware-config -autoUpdate 1 -manualUpdate 1
