well maybe so. you have your opinion, I have mine. but that was your first post, so I was just trying to help as someone who has been on here for a little while. mods would make the final decision.
what I was trying to say was that all discussion for features and ideas, not just new ones, has been in that other section.
Wow, I have only posted one question, but instead of an answer, I got a comment about making sure I was looking in the right place. Then I read this post where basically the same thing happened. Doesn’t feel very friendly so far, hope I am wrong.
Do you have difficulty with the English language that prevents you from understanding the simple and correct answer that was posted to the question you asked here?
What does your post entitled “Tracking past flight (4 days ago)” have in common with “Photo’s” the subject of this thread? Ah, nothing, you just felt a need to complain.
There are different parts to FlightAware, in your particular situation they would be the “Live Tracking” portion and the “Discussions” portion. You need to be logged in to the Live Tracking portion in order to see the button to click to view more past flights.
You are absolutely right, I just felt the need to complain. I happened across this post and noticed a trend of not very friendly answers so I mentioned it. In the meantime I have received an answer to my post (which was in the correct place) that was not rude and was helpful so at least everyone here is not cranky. Don’t worry, I don’t want to be part of such a ridiculous group who instead of being helpful, just points out that you are in the wrong place. I have tracked flights many times and of course I know that you don’t track from the discussions area, I just didn’t know if I could go back farther than 72 hours, I usually do it within a day of the flight.
Again, thanks for treating me like a child, have a nice day.
**Whatever, there’s never a need to be rude **for no good reason. People make mistakes and don’t know how to navigate, no need for huge discussions about how they can’t seem to post correctly.
And the helpful answer I got was not from you.
Wow… I can see your comprehension skills are lacking… In this thread someone mentioned that they thought the post was in the wrong place… in your thread, someone said to make sure you were registered with the tracking side of FlightAware, because if you wasn’t… you wouldn’t be able to see further back… a perfectly reasonable response… to which you replied “thanks”… so obviously you had no problem with it…
I don’t want to be part of such a ridiculous group who instead of being helpful, just points out that you are in the wrong place.
Where did that happen? The person above provided the answer and pointed out that it was the incorrect section so that the next time they’ll post in the right place… unless you want us posting in the wrong categories… that would make us a ridiculous group…
I have tracked flights many times and of course I know that you don’t track from the discussions area, I just didn’t know if I could go back farther than 72 hours, I usually do it within a day of the flight.
Sorry, we were being total jerks… how did we manage to not know that you knew that already… Duh! It’s so stupid of us to not know that you’ve done it many times… though… that question was the first time we found out that you existed…
Again, thanks for treating me like a child, have a nice day.
Only children think that correction where and when appropriate isn’t good.
She is not kidding. I’m pretty sure that she did get one of the typical rude “do a search” answers to her simple question and then the poster DELETED it. Nice way to welcome someone to the board.
Then she simply points that out in another post, that also starts off treating a new member REALLY nice (for no reason AT ALL), and gets crap for that.
You actually do a search for something on the board and you get a bunch of discussions with the first post saying “do a search” “your in the wrong section” “read the FAQ” etc. etc etc.
I have seen this since the day I joined this board and it just gets old.
If that’s the case, then I’ll offer a heartfelt apology to her.
But as far as the evidence we can see is concerned, she got a brief but correct answer from Wazzu explaining what she possibly did incorrectly in her effort to retrieve past track information and then she came to this thread to complain about it.
Thank you very much for your response, I do appreciate it. I do post on other flight related, as well as other boards and have just not seen this type of response to new people who don’t follow the correct path. Sorry I upset everyone so much, I truly did not mean to cause a problem.
I won’t be back except to track flights on live tracking…but I do very much appreciate your comment. Thanks
