No Dump1090 Local

Just had to rebuild my Pi after 3 years of it working OK.

I used the piaware image and instructions.

Its feeding Flightaware and FR24 OK.

The thing I cannot seem to get working is the local view, ie via 192…

I have tried :8080 :80 /dump109-fa and all the extentions I can find on the web.

Any ideas of what I am missing?

What happens when you try to view it?

That is not the piaware sdcard image, based on the hostname.

Thanks for the quick reply, I’ve tried so many sudo this and that to get it work I’ve probably reinstalled piaware, dump1090 and fr24 3 times!

When I type in 192…in a web browser it just says cannot connect. If I do http://192.168…:30005/ then I get the wingdings type output.

so you’ve tried http://192.168.1.12/dump1090-fa ?

Looks like you have an obsolete dump1090 package installed.

Without an accurate description of what you installed it’s going to be hard to help.
As a starting point please try the piaware sdcard image without changes and see if that works.

ta will reload it all later and try again.

Just checked I used piaware-sd-card-3.8.1.img

Are you sure? As obj mentioned your device host name is “raspberrypi” which is then not the Piaware image.
Normally this is a Raspberry image with the Paiaware and dump1090-fa addon package

sudo rm /etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled/89-dump1090.conf
sudo apt remove -y dump1090-mutability
sudo apt remove -y dump1090
sudo reboot

That will likely fix it.

If you ever start new with a Raspbian image, this gives a few pointers:
Raspbian Lite: ADS B receiver · wiedehopf/adsb-wiki Wiki · GitHub

Main thing: Decide on ONE dump1090 / decoder package … only install that.
Don’t select DVB-T if installing FR24.
Use network mode if installing RB24.

Those two are the top offenders of installing their own dump1090 and then not providing data on 30005.

all sorted on the reinstall, but I clicked by mistake the claim new flightware site, so it set i up on that and not my old one. Is there anway to merge?
