So here is a thought. Tell me if this is a bad idea.
Use a PI AWARE set up in my Jeep. Wouldn’t run all the time, but going to airshows or somewhere else with interesting activity, I would be able to reset my Lat/Long/Alt remotely, to where I am, thethered to a cell phone and see what I might see.
I know I could sit anywhere and use the phone app, but it could be fun to see flight paths and data of a demonstration.
Id be surprised if someone else hasn’t thought of this.
NOTE about Window’s ADSB Decoder “AdsbSharp” AKA “ADSB#”
The “AdsbSharp/ADSB#” is a simple, lightweight, and very good adsb decoder for Windows.
If I recall correctly, this decoder was originally developed by Youssef Touil ( @prog ), and was later acquired by Airspy. About 4 years ago it was removed from Airspy’s download site for unknown reason.
Luckily I have downloaded and saved it on my PC shortly before it was removed. Today I uploaded it to my Dropbox and posted it’s download link in my above post for use in conjunction with adsbScop on Windows Laptops.
@prog If only Airspy had an authorized reseller in the Philippines! I’m unable to purchase any Airspy products here. I wanted an HF+ Discovery for HFDL reception but had to settle for an SDRPlay RSP1A instead, which is a good SDR but its Linux API/driver is a bit unstable. Plus it doesn’t have the sensitivity and MDS that the HF+ does.
