It wasn’t like that at takeoff. It was sometime during the flight when the off-duty flight attendant decided that the pilot’s lap…err…jumpseat was no longer comfy, and wanted her original seat back. It wasn’t during the whole flight, but it was enough.
Because the Captain is on a power trip and he had dark skin & a foreign sounding name. In post 9/11 America, this is darn near a one-way, non-stop ticket on an unmarked shadow aircraft to Guantanamo Bay.
This guy refuses the Captain’s order and you can bet he’s greeted by the jackbooted Feds upon landing and charged. His civil case has much more weight if he’s not facing criminal charges for disobeying a flight crew, regardless of the insanity of their order.
I have not yet seen it(but I want to), but there are more than a few accounts of completely innocent people being renditioned and tortured. Maybe not Guantanamo, perhaps Syria or Egypt then.
