long flight for a 717

Anyone know whats up with this flight? Its a long way for maintenance. I know they fit them with internal fuel tanks for the hop across the pond. Maybe they sold the aircraft??? Maybe retirement? I know victorville has a boneyard. Just curious.

It’s getting a paint job, VCV has a nice paint shop too. Some have already been painted and the entire 717 fleet should have new paint by the end of the summer. Yes, internal tanks are needed and used. You may also see them going to MIA occasionally, heavy maintenance checks are done there and normally go via OAK. The 717 will probably be at HA for a while as there is no real suitable jet replacement at this time, the short flights with limited cooling times are hard on engines and the RR BR-715s work great for this unique operation.

cool thanks for the info.
