Could also be for major maintenance, or is going to fly winter Caribbean trips for a Western Hemisphere airline. The Turkish tourist season just about dies in the winter, there are a lot of seasonal leases coming from there.
Sun Express was started as a joint venture with Lufthansa when I worked in Istanbul in the early 90’s.
