How to get command line

When piaware starts, it stops on the welcome screen. How do I get to the Debian command line prompt (alt-F2 does nothing).

Welcome! Can you provide a screenshot of what you see? Does Alt-F10 bring up System Logs?

Can’t do a screenshot or get the logs. I got to a Linux prompt once, but can’t figure out how I did it. Just stuck on the piaware welcome screen.

maybe the GUI is loading then and it does not fit to your screen?

Doubt it. Not helpful.

I’d just suggest to use SSH / Putty.

For Beginners - How-to SSH to RPi - Setup Putty in Windows

Otherwise you could just use Raspbian Lite and install piaware: PiAware - dump1090 ADS-B integration with FlightAware - FlightAware

Anyhow you might want to just debug the issue but i thought i’d offer 2 work-arounds.

Finally figured out what was going on (even though it’s now moot). I was using the piaware, which doesn’t boot to the linux command line or desktop the way Raspian does, and the right-side alt key, which for some reason, wasn’t registering with the RPi. The left-side alt-F2 works as designed. I somehow stumbled on that by chance.

Thanks for your responses.
