Flights inaccurate???

My last 2 flights I just finally gave up tracking with Flightaware. The first was Thursday, 5/27/10, DL 1929, ATL-SEA. For over 2 hours into the flight, flightaware still showed the flight on the ground waiting for take off.

The second was Monday, 5/31/10, DL 2668, SEA-ATL. At 28 minutes into the flight, flightaware stopped tracking. It showed 28 minutes up until we were descending into ATL and I shut down my computer.

Glitches? I wonder why there is no help section on the main site. You’d think they’d want to know about the glitches.

A couple of days ago there was bad or even no information getting to FA from the normal FAA feeds. Maybe your flights were during that time period.

I have just signed up for email alerts from flight aware and 7 out of 8 alerts have been extremely inaccurate. Arrival and departure times have been off more than two hours and right now it is showing our jet en route even though it is still on the ground

Did you try looking at the Questions/Answers AVAILABLE ON EVERY PAGE in FlightAware.

The powers that are in charge are pretty good about reading these posts, they are going to want specific flights and dates so they can investigate.

What Damiross is trying to so tactfully say is (lmao, sorry) is that except for server’s crashing the data is only as good as what is received from the FAA.

Better answer for his problem would be flightaware.com/about/contact/ found under contact on the left side of the screen for glitches

Uh yeah. Those are general Q/As. I was referring to specific issues/problems.

Precisely why I gave specific flights and dates in my original post.

Your question was about help, not contacting. Do what Allan said then.

That was actually directed at pwise but you would be surprised at how may people question things without enough specifics to get help.

We had some realtime data processing issues Thursday morning. I believe we posted a note about it on the site while the issue was ongoing. No data was lost.

We didn’t have any issues yesterday, this may have been the inflight wifi service caching our site.

As we say on the contact us page, this forum is the place to report general flight tracking issues.
