I have just migrated my FA feeder from a PiAware install on a Pi Zero W to an OctoPi instance running on a Pi 4B 4GB but I’ve run into a little trouble.
A j-pole that I made from some 2.5mm copper wire and the pigtail from a 4G router that I had laying around, it’s currently sitting in an upstairs window but the loft/attic is available for mounting.
It’s far from ideal but it’s a start.
Enlarged View of V-Stub Quick Spider made of RG-6 coax only - No connectors.
On top, the small sliding piece of wire (with core insulation to hold the sliding wire in place) is for conveniently adjusting the length of top wire for best MESSAGE RATE (if no swr meter is available) or minimum swr if swr meter is available.
Thanks for the info, I may give this a go once I find my RG6.
I now have the J-pole a meter higher and outside the window on a bracket I 3D printed. The signal increase is massive, I hope moving into the loft will give more improvement still.
