Very nifty! I’ve been waiting for upgrades to the maps for a long time. Other suggestions might be to have IFR maps and also to plot the filed route on the map. Also maybe filters so you can see all UAL B772 around KORD for instance. Looking forward to the changes on airport maps, fleet maps, etc.
IFR charts aren’t to scale and aren’t georeferenced, although there may be another way to get there.
We will be expanding the tech to other map types.
Will you be adding these upgrades to the airport activity maps ?

Question…can other font colors be looked at for the earth view? The “lovely” browns out west tend to hide the orange that is used.

Yeah, we’re tweaking that. Trying to find colors that are aesthetically pleasing and work in a variety of backgrounds.
There is a weird gap in MS/AL that we’re looking at.

Matches my sectional where Atlanta sectional joins. Hardly noticeable to me considering it was expected (by me anyway) and airspace joins up nicely both for Atlanta and Memphis sectional.
Absolutely wonderful upgrade especially getting the full picture both zooming out. I maximize the browser screen to full screen and then “control +” to make the image bigger. I am floored at the speed of viewing crossing sectional boundaries. Below are screen shots of what I am talking about

One suggestion I can think of. Would it be possible to make the track line color user definable? Let the user select the color in their profile setup? Probably no real happy medium on color over the sectional but the blue does tend to lose it’s emphasis with the sectional as a background (second screenshot).
Just a thought for the next round, historical “animations” of tracks, even if it is capturing each map update and smashing them together that way. Just an idea.

Hmm may be a shortcoming in the sectionals rather than an issue on our part.
I’d very much like to see the filed route plotted on the map, options to display VORs and all major airports (Kxxx) on the map etc…
Feel kinda silly, but neither Firefox nor IE shows the “+” icon to pick the maps. Am I missing something?
…and of course, it turns out I was missing something. I had been looking at the overall airport-referenced map, not one for a particular flight. I looked back and saw the instruction to “load a flight tracking map”. Guess I got too carried away by the eye-candy. Thanks for the clue.
