This may have been an earlier topic of discussion, but I noticed my PiAware receiver is currently “synchronized with 351 nearby receivers” as we follow certain aircraft to compute their positions.
I believe multilateration (MLAT) requires three or more receivers to obtain a position. Would it be possible to publicly share a map of those “351 nearby receivers,” i.e., those other FlightAware feeders, in realtime? I’d really like to see the actual coverage in my area. Thank you.
I saw this recently, but I can’t remember where. It showed the locations of receivers on a map. When you clicked on one it would show radials to the other receivers it was synchronized with. Maybe this will sound familiar to someone who might know the site. My memory isn’t what it used to be - not by a long shot!
@Ruudjuhhh That’s it. I had a feeling it was ADSBExchange. They have so many different pages to display your stats I was confused. So, @waltkev if you want to use that site you will have to start feeding ADSBExchange if you’re not already. And I will bookmark that page so I don’t forget again.
Right… that’s ADS-B Exchange… not FlightAware. Different group… thanks.
Thanks for this, I hadn’t seen it but it is vey interesting to see who I’m syncing with.
