Flight Tracker Map

not getting the map to load once I put in an identifier. Everything loads but the map. Using Explorer.

( This is a stupid statement) But have you clicked refresh?

Are you having trouble with the map for an aircraft or an airport?

it does it whether it is for an airport or aircraft. It won’t track and aircraft and won’t display an airport or the activity.

looks like it works fine using firefox…explorer must have some kind of problem and it just started a week or so ago out of the blue.

Yes, and its name is Microsoft.

Try shift+reload or control+reload. It’s an issue with the mapping code getting corrupted, so downloading a new copy resolves it.

Try clearing the browser cache?

Maybe I’m supposed to know this already but what is the equivalent of “reload” on a QWERTY keyboard? I don’t see it on mine.

I’m not getting anymap on my “My FlightAware” page. the maps on the individual plane tracking pages works fine.

Is this a similar problem or something different?

ctrl-R or ctrl-F5 (F5 is the normal refresh)

It’s a button in your web browser, not on your keyboard.

MyFlightAware is a different issue. Do you have any flights in the air? Otherwise the map may collapse to a point.

Oh, Okay. That makes perfect sense.
No flights airborne presently. I’ll go back in my hole now.

Make sure your Java is updated. I had a problem too with the new maps till I did the updates. IE7

Dave

The map doesn’t work with google chrome either. However it does work with Safari.

I wish they would move that white flightaware logo somewhere else its right on top of the aircraft identifiers.

Yea, I agree. Perhaps they could move it to Cleveland or Philadelphia or maybe even Cucamonga.

(sarcasm, folks. I don’t see any need to move the logo. You can always right click on the map, hold it, and pan the map to see what’s under the logo)

But that would require effort Dami…

My bad! I forgot that effort should not be expended…

Thanx for the heads up on that.
