Equipment type

Just heard Avianca is beginning service tomorrow to KMCO. Any idea what size a/c will run that route?

Oh and before I forget HAPPY Friday!! 8)

After much deliberation I have come to the conclusion that the aircraft will be bigger than a bread box but not quite as big as the IAD terminal building.

That said, I looked at the Avianca web site. They didn’t show any MCO services. I did find a couple of articles dated last year saying they were awarded service to MCO but decided to go to IAD instead.

…read wiki myself, and checked Avianca site as well…I know for a fact they start tomorrow…just trying to find out a/c type. I know they service IAD with the A319. Oh well…

BOG-MCO is not filed in the GDS on Avianca.

This is really strange. I spent about 15 minutes on the Avianca site (both USA and Colombia versions) and couldn’t find anything about Orlando.

The MCO web page shows flights between BOG and MCO but by JetBlue, not Avianca. (Strange site MCO: You put in the city you want to fly to or from and then Excel spreadsheets appear with all departures and arrivals.

Thats weird. . . I work at MCO and didnt even know that Avianca started their services.

I noticed a lot of Colombians with Avianca ticket jackets at the main terminal and was told there was an Avianca A/C parked in the 80’s

I also find it weird that I cant find a flight for Orlando in their website.

Welcome to FA…good to have a person with boots on the ramp chime in. After doing a bit more research, I was later told “Charter ops”. Sorry for the confusion, the person I was trying to help had been given misinformation, which as we all researched was the case. GREAT Weekend to all!!
