Easily feed FlightRadar24 from PiAware

What install procedure did you do:?

Installed the downloaded file (PiAware on Raspbian Linux 2.1-5 ZIP (995MB))
Found at flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/build (Step 2)
and after that installed FR24feeder using:
flightradar24.com/raspberry-pi

OR

Did you install the latest Raspian OS and after that followed the instructions in flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/install
and after that installed FR24feeder using:
flightradar24.com/raspberry-pi

Is there any difference at the end from using one method or the other?

I did not follow any of the two procedures you mentioned. Both seem to be same as far as performance is concerned. You can try any one and see how it goes.

I have used two different install methods on my two RPi.
Method for RPi#1 is a bit complicated for a beginner.
Method for RPi#2 is comparatively easier due to automated install.

On my RPi #1
(1) Installed the latest Raspian OS image.
(2) installed dump1090-mutability v1.15~dev using mgunther’s method from here What is Easiest Way To Install Dump1090-Mutability
(3) Installed Piaware data feeder from here http://flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/install. Omitted step “1 What’s Needed”, as dump1090 was already installed by mgunther’s method above, and started from “2 Download and Install PiAware”.
(4) Installed FR24feeder using method given here: https://www.flightradar24.com/raspberry-pi.
(5) Activated MLAT for both (Flightaware & Flightradar24) and both are working fine since last few months

On my RPi #2
(1) Installed the latest Raspian OS image.
(2) installed dump1090-mutability v1.15~dev, Piaware data feeder, Planefinder data feeder, and Web Portal (performance graphs), using jprochazka’s automated script from here: ADS-B Feeder Receiver Setup Scripts
(3) installed FR24feeder using method given here: https://www.flightradar24.com/raspberry-pi.
(4) Activated MLAT for both (Flightaware & Flightradar24) and both are working fine since last few months.
