My company recently upgraded to the Pro Stick +. We still have the external filters, is it a good idea to use those as well as the Pro Stick + even though it has a built in filter? What changes in performance would that cause?

If you have cell towers in the vicinity that would be recommended to keep the external filter.
In the prostick plus the filter is located behind the built-in LNA so any side signals are amplified as well.
With the external filter you eliminate that issue so the data should be of a better quality. Due to the insertion loss you might lose some aircraft but since the LNA enhances the signal that difference should be minimal.
Yes, it can be advantageous to keep external filtering with a Pro Stick +. It depends on how strong out of band signals are with you but in my case I need additional filtering.

A couple of months ago i have tested the blue FA pro Plus stick behind my filtered Uputronics LNA. Overall the performance was approx. 10-15% better.
