Yeah, never seen that before. LSU’s normal flight number is 9804 but they are showing a 738 enroute with a 9930 deahead number and the live flight flight number to GTR is 8912. When you click on 8912 it goes to a regional flight. On delta.com flight status, it does show that 8912 is supposed to be the charter to GTR so not sure what is going on and why they renumbered the flight.
Found out the LSU plane was delayed 4 hours due to mechanical issues that caused the oxygen masks to drop. I guess this happened on the ferry from ATL to BTR and they turned around and went back to get another plane and this was the 9930/8912 but can’t find the original flight.
2 weeks in a row still got players sick, either way don’t see FL losing.
LSU finally got up there but missed the evening practice due to arriving late. Kickoff was set for 11am and it’s been raining like heck all morning, gonna be a mess.
The Delta charter numbers also different for NFL. The Saints have been 9802 for years but today they are 8871 and no idea why. If you go to delta.com it shows both the 9802 and 8871, but only the 8871 is updating.
While waiting on the tarmac in Baton Rouge, the oxygen masks suddenly dropped from overhead. The players, coaches and officials were asked to stuff the masks back in the compartments and deplane, but no sooner had they done so than another, unspecified problem with the chartered plane was announced.
Thus, another plane had to be flown to Baton Rouge from Atlanta. The Tigers arrived at their hotel around 8 p.m., some four hours later than scheduled.
It was shaping up to be a miserable weekend but LSU somehow escaped with a win. Not a good performance at all and we have Georgia and Florida coming up.
Still can’t get the DL permalink to work but their flight back from GTR was DAL8912, a B738.
Good catch but it’s 575 miles so probably too far to bus. I would guess they took a WN commercial flight over and the WN charter back. The Univ of North Texas did this same thing last week going to Tuscaloosa and the mileage was almost the same.
