Not sure about this one. Unless they have changed recently, Alaska’s charter flights are usually numbered 7XXX. This was probably just a plane they were routing through maintenance at GSO. Plus, it’s only 155 miles to drive directly from WCU to Atlanta, versus over 200 to drive to GSO to catch a plane. Why drive farther just to fly?

Nice catch. The passenger arm of the company is called National Airlines. Their website is here:
They have a picture of their 757 here, which is apparently the aircraft used to operate this charter flight.
Interesting that they do not have a separate callsign for passenger service - I guess the “National” callsign from the old National Airlines is still reserved.
The call sign is assigned to the company, not the type of operation.
Hmmm. What about Lufthansa Cargo? I understand Lufthansa Cargo uses the callsign “Lufthansa Cargo” instead of just “Lufthansa.” Though Lufthansa Cargo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa, and thus, somewhat distinct from the scheduled passenger arm. There may not exist any such distinction between National Air Cargo and the current National Airlines.
One interesting footnote: it seems McNeese State’s return flight from Kansas went to Houston instead of Lake Charles, due to all the bad weather associated with Tropical Storm Lee in Louisiana:

I think it’s somewhat curious that they stuck with Allegiant after the close call last year. Never found anything in public that explained what happened, wonder if the school got an explanation?
I’m still amazed at how many teams still fly into OKC vs. SWO. I know that T Boone helped pay to extend the main runway so OSU could fly out of SWO without having to make the hour or so drive to KOKC.
