cal. flight 5, 8-8-9

London to Houston with a 737-900, can this be right?

I am sure that the flight is operating with a B772 as it usually does. Just one of those pesky glitches. EGLL to KIAH is about 4200 miles. Even a 737-900ER only has about 3200 miles of range.

That flight? What Flight?

That flight? What Flight?

Judging by the subject line of the original post, I believe he was referring to COA Flight 5.

cal. flight 5, 8-8-9 = COA 5?

Coco Puffs?

Common sense.

Or limited experience? I used to work several flights a day that started with CAL ### and it wasn’t Continental.

By “cal” I mean continental airlines, sorry for any confusion, I guess it is just a mistake by listing that flight as a 737-900.

What confused everybody was “CAL”, as you’ve realized. As far as flights go, they’ll go off the ICAO code for the airline. In this case, Continental’s code is COA. CAL is actually China Airlines.

It’s a B772, I’ve flown this many times (including when it was out of EGKK). It’s an issue with our UK tracking due to the fact that we’re using US flight tracking data to figure out the aircraft type. Known bug that’ll be fixed.

FPL for todays ARCID/COA5 says REG/N78004 TYPE/B772.

You said it, brother!
You said it so compactly that it took me a min to figure out you were continuing the thread. I still think I missed about half of the info you gave.
