My personal Pi Flightaware and my FlightFeeder are both giving at the right of the Site ID “View Anomalies” giving a message “CPU Temperature is 70C… which is fairly high… consider relocating…”
AND I have been getting email notifications saying the same.
My Pi is in the attic. SSH is enabled and I check the temp (vcgencmd measure_temp) and it is 44C at the hottest time of day.
No SSH on the FlightFeeder so I can’t check but it is NOT in an attic. It sits on an office desk.
Is everyone getting this “View Anomally” Temp warning?
Yes - I was too. I placed one of them USB powered 5 inch fans to cool it. its reporting back 49C at the moment. A pi5 in the loft.
I get it from time to time with my pi in the loft but when it occurs, it really is that hot!
It seems to take a while for the warning to disappear once it has been triggered.
Do you have graphs1090 installed?
It will let you see when it was the temperature went above the warning level.
Not using graph1090. One of my sites is a FlightFeeder so no ssh. I check every time I get the warning email. It is always between 35C and 45C. I check often so I decided to stop temperature warnings. I use PUTTY to ssh in to check the temp .. it is 44.3C the website is reporting 75.2C. I also use an IR thermometer to confirm the temp.
I use the command line
vcgencmd measure_temp
That gives the GPU temperature which I always find is close to the CPU temperature. However, you can find the CPU temperature to check there isn’t some strange anomaly.
cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
Divide it by 1000 to get the temperature
See:

When I built my system, I put it in an ElectroCookie Mini Tower case (Amazon), which has fans to force-cool the board, so no issues with mine.
I had a receiver complaining about the temperature as well. Never had issues with it, it has been running for almost 300 days without problems.
To get rid of that issue I replaced the unit with another Raspberry Pi, I now have no more warnings in my overview.
It was running around 75 degrees Celsius but never noticed any kind of impact on the performance.
After replacement I also got a notification that the unit had returned to normal temperature from FA.
Strangely the GPU is 46.2C and CPU at 44.7Cbut FlightAware is reporting 77.605C on BOTH of my sites. Must be a coincidence. I have stopped contacting support as they are convinced the website right.
Thanks
