4G7, Fairmont, Wv. was not able to get this airport in the data base Flew in there this last weekend, was able to see it filed to 4G7 however under airport ID to track traffic in there it says that that identifier doesn’t exist.
I too have found that to be a problem. 1D2 Plymouth/Canton Mettetal is my local airport right near DTW but is not listed. It does have an IFR approach.
Oh, boy, my favorite topic! I like it so much that I enjoy seeing multiple topics started on it. I’m so glad nobody uses the search function to see if this topic has been posted before because then I’d be denied the honor of seeing multiple postings on the topic of missing airports.

I checked the search funtion, yet non of those post answered the question, and most information posted by others were not correct to begin with.
1 . If I type in 4G7 I get a messange as follows
"Unkonwn or Invalid Airport Code
Hint #1: Airport code must be a 3 or 4 digit ICAO (e.g. AUS/KAUS) or FAA (e.g.,3R9 pr CA35) code.

Now I know the FAA code for Fairmont, WV. is 4G7, on the resource page, if you click airports in WV this is what comes up

So all I ask is why when I put that code in to view airport activity, so I get the unknown or invalid airport code, or if I type in just the code on resources page I get the same, however if on the resource page for under the state it shows it.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear. What I was pointing out was that the topic of airports not showing up has been covered and the FlightAware staff was working on it.
This problem usually appears only with airports that do not have 3 letter codes. I don’t see any rhyme or reason, though, for which ones of the others are chosen.
yeah i’m a pilot in RI (thats rhode island, it’s a state!) and when i searched block island (thats an actual island) airport, it didnt come up. That airport is extremely busy in the summer. Its a small field though rwy is 2400 ft. code is KBID
Yes, Block Island has been discussed before, do a search for “block Island” (The search button is WAY up at the top of each forum page.)
