Adding new aircraft to the FA database

Hi folks!

I’m new to this forum, but long time FA feeder, so I have a question: How to add new aircraft to the FA database? I know that the FR24 forum has a topic just for that…

Best regards,

Andre

FlightAware does this differently than FR24. We track by flights so if a plane is flying or has flown it can be searched for.

Just use the search bar at the top of the FlightAware homepage to find a plane by any type of information you have.
The search bar will try to guess the format of the search and return as close a match as possible.

If you want to search by a specific type of information use the drop down box next to the bar and select the type of information you have.
This type search will only look at the database with that specific type of information.

If you know of a specific plane that isn’t coming up on FlightAware let us know.

How about adding ALGR into the database for aircraft photos and FBO reviews? You have to use a different aircraft to make a review work. And airport 5NC3 is now BQ1. If there is anyway to update that in the photos, that would be good.

I flew ZK-FXC (new registration) for the first time yesterday out of NZHN but it has not appeared on on FlightAware as yet. Is there something that needs to be done?

I don’t know how FA associates ICAO hex-codes which are set in the planes ADS-B transponder, but at least internally i’m sure they can search by ICAO hex-code.

So if you own that plane, that hex code would probably help if someone would want to check it internally in FAs systems.

Maybe you just need to wait until your tail number is associated with your hex-code on the international database that probably exists at ICAO.

For the US there is a formula that relates call signs to hex codes. You can google it.

If you did not file a flight plan then you may need to enable position only flights in your settings.

Good point. The hex code is C82818

Ohhh, if only there was such a thing…

We don’t automatically import the NZ registry so this one would need to be done manually.
