Just thought, presumably for this purpose, the MAC only has to be unique on the fA network?
So, in theory, I could take the MAC of another NIC that, even if in use, was never going to be reporting data to FlightAware?
I.e my dad’s PC will never be reporting directly?
It has to be unique within all feeders feeding to FA, and it has to be unique within the local network segment you use it on.
Thanks Obj, so, couldnt be on his local network then… might give him my PC MAC.
Probably going to giving to someone else now (new location on the Island), but the same MAC issue - and solutions here - stand.
