Added UAT support to my PiAware, but my setup has become less reliable

Hello! I’ve been running a PiAware station for ten months or so and it has been quite reliable, but recently I added a second receiver (FlightAware Pro Stick) configured for UAT 978MHz and have started having problems where both dump1080-fa and dump978-fa stop running randomly. I can recover by rebooting, but I’m hoping there’s something I can do to improve the reliability. I may end up removing the second receiver otherwise.

It’s probably power problems; you need a good stable power supply to run two dongles on one Pi.

Good point. I thought I had an adequate supply, but I will check to see if my pi reports having been undervolted next time I see this.

Has anyone used a powered USB hub to get around this problem or is there a recommended power supply for the Raspberry PI 4 that can handle two receivers?

The official power supply:

Official Raspberry Pi Power Supply 5.1V 3A with USB C
Official Raspberry Pi Power Supply 5.1V 3A with USB C [1.5 meter long] : ID 4298 : $7.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits

I had a 5V 3A supply, but I replaced it with the official supply and added a USB hub with its own 4A power supply to power the receivers. Since then it has been working without any problems. Thanks for the advice!
