Egyptair flight MSR 804 shows mostly 737-800

Curious to know why Flightaware history is showing 737-800 for this CDG-CAI segment for the 42 flights preceding the A320 incident and the ones after, when even Egyptair shows A320 in upcoming flights ?
Was there a sudden aircraft change to an A320 last May 19 ?
Some like France24 seem to challenge Flightaware history on this route.

It was in the schedule as a 737-800 since the end of March, so what’s what we had it as. We looked into the incident flight and confirmed it was an A320 and corrected that flight, but have not confirmed a change for the prior flights.

Since Flightaware can end up with operator-specific aircraft codes for flights that it can’t make sense of, it errs on the side of using what’s in the schedule for scheduled flights.

Of course, there’s problems with this such as not picking up equipment swaps and often blanket wrong assignents (such as saying that every United Express flight operated by Expressjet is an E-135 when they no longer have any in the fleet).
