Smaller -

Dornier 328JET
DeHavilland Q400 Dash 8

Medium -

B757 series
B738 and 9

Jumbo -

B777-300ER
L-1011 (A real gem)
MD-11 (Also incredible)
and of course…B748

If I could fly it: DC-8

If I’m a passenger on it: 757

If I have time to stare at it: MD-11

  • Convair B-57 Hustler
  • Boeing 707
  • Boeing B-17
  • Boeing 747

The B-57 was built by Martin and was called the Canberra.

The B-58 was the Hustler.

I’m rather limited in what I see flying over my house as I’m in line with KBGR but here goes.

L1011 (trijets and winglets are sexy, as stated previously)
MD-11 (I have a Centurion Air Cargo that stops in Bangor a couple times a week)
737
E170
Antonov AN124
707
777
787(haven’t seen one in person yet but it’s rather sexy)
Gulfstream IV and V
A320
A380

Obviously the 747, not liking the 747 would be a crime.

I have been away too long!!! CONCORDE!!! She at her time was the sexy machine of the skys! I will go B744 2nd MD-11 and B777 for 2nd.

Yet another spam from a bottom feeder!

A380-800, 747SP and -400 and -8I, B190, BAE 146, A318, 757-300, Concorde.

727-200: Looked like a badass strolling from taxiway to ramp, had sexy lines, and very successful for the multitude of airlines who flew her.

777-300: Damn near 747 capacity with a sleeker, less thirsty finish.

707: How much ground was broken by this Boeing creation?

DC-3: Still flying for various cargo and tourism operations, will fly through anything. True classic.

Cessna 750, Gulfstream V, 737-900ER, 777-300ER.

F-15, F-18, C-17, C-5.

Which aircraft will turn my head?
I’ve always loved the looks of the Lockheed Connie, esp. a later version such as the 1649.
And the Sud Aviation Caravelle. Both aircraft posses beautiful graceful lines.

Which have I enjoyed flying in?
The 707 series and the 757. They just seemed to have an abundance of power and gave you the feeling of being flat out solid aircraft.

And my favorites for the impact they’ve had on aviation in general?
First I turn to an aircraft that has been mentioned several times before, the DC-3. Simple, durable, could haul virtually anything and fly just about anywhere.
And my other favorite for impact is the Blackbird series, such as the A-12 and the SR-71. Decades ahead it its time.

Perhaps the president and/or vice-president was on board.

Out of all the types I have personally flown on, I like AirTran’s 712 and 73G, along with Delta’s A320 and 763.

[quote=ā€œchotiwalaā€]

It’s highly doubtful either would be on-board an aircraft doing touch-and-goes.

I was kidding.

Of airplanes of my time and that I have flown on, it would be the Boeing 747. In terms of the classics that I’ll never be able to fly on, well… That’s a long list.

I prefer the CRJ-1000, Boeing 777-200/300ER, 747-8,787-8, Airbus 321, A330-300, and My favorite the Dash8 Q 400 series!

Really miss the old Northwest Airlines (Mesaba if I remember correctly) BAE146/RJ series that used to serve my city with flights to MSP. Neat little plane, hard (if not impossible) to find regular serivice in north america with these.

These days I really like the 737 next gens that WestJet flies, and the 747-400, 757s that Ive flown on in the past. Been a while since Ive gone transcon/international on a real long haul, so havent had the luxury of a 330/340. 777 etc.

Also feel like Ive missed out on the ā€œoldā€ classics like the 707, 727, DC8s and old props.

Wishlist, with planes I know I wont fly in unless I travel to specific countries just for them, (anybody want to sponsor me haha?)

TU154, TU-204,IL96, AN-148, SSJ100

And the more realistic,

787, 747-8, A340, A380.
