What happened to AA 207?

I’m trying to track AAL #207 which is supposed to be a direct flight from Milan, Italy to Miami, FL (Sept. 25). The plane has disappeared off the flight path. Does that mean anything significant?

If you look at the tracklog:

uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/ … X/tracklog

there are a few things going on:

  • ADS-B coverage is line-of-sight, so there is generally no coverage over oceans
  • it diverted to CYQX a while after leaving ADS-B coverage
  • something has slightly confused the tracklog and it’s synthesized an arrival 30 mins into the flight, which is what made the aircraft disappear off the map

Thanks for the info. AAL has finally updated their info and show the flight has been diverted to Gander

On Flightview.com flight tracker, their map shows the original intended flight path, but shows the plane way up north in the middle of the N. Atlantic. American Airlines is useless and is of no help. They weren’t even aware of this change when I called.

Thanks again for your input. I’m concerned as my wife is on that flight and I hope there isn’t a serious issue causing the diversion.

HEY FLIGHTAWARE…you need to be a lot more accurate. You currently show AA 207 is enroute to Miami and will arrive 10 minutes later than originally scheduled. You show the flight doing 464 kts at 40,000 ft.

Newsflash! AA 207 is sitting at the terminal in Gander Newfoundland!!! It just landed there a few minutes ago. How could you info be so terribly wrong??? I think I’m done with flightaware.

There is a link on each flight page where you can report inaccuracies if you are interested in improving the quality of the information.

FWIW I just looked at the AAL207 page and I don’t see anything wrong there, there’s the Malpensa-Gander leg that landed at 12:38NDT and a Gander-Miami leg scheduled to leave at 13:25NDT; neither are in the air.

Well, you certainly didn’t stay long. According to your profile, you joined 7/25/15 and made your 3 post within 4 minutes, culminating with this one.
