Wondering if anyone knows whose plane I saw at the Houston-Hobby airport on Friday. Medium size private jet with University of Michigan logo on the tail and painted white with maize and blue stipes. Tail number looked like N929S, but that is not right.
Here it is.

Probably gives a ton of money to the school I would think otherwise they might have a problem with him painting the aircraft like that.
There’s also a King Air that you see at MSY often and it has LSU painted on the tail yet doesn’t look to be affiliated with them.
Here’s a video of the plane you were talking about when it was in Cleveland…
Here’s the guidelines for using the UM logo
He may not have had to give “a ton of money to the school.” Rather, looking at the 2nd to last item in the list, he may have just had to consult with the school.
Now, my question is how can a government ran entity prohibit a citizen from using the logo?
Interesting, looks like it might be doable.
I was just thinking about the bad PR if something goes wrong, you know people seeing the jet will probably think it’s an official Michigan jet. Maybe it’s nothing to worry about since they are government and I was thinking about it from a business standpoint. You’re probably right and they let him do it.
Hopefully the pilot is a bit more successful in operating the jet than Robert Traylor was with that SUV.
The King Air is for Acadian Ambulance, they also have a Lear 35 with the same bad paint job. : )
