UAL 930

While flying over eastern Montana Wednesday night, the flight crew of UAL 930 assisted a pilot in distress. He was above the cloud layer, nearly out of fuel and could not find any airport nearby. The UAL 930 crew relayed vital information between Salt Lake Center and the pilot. He finally broke through the cloud layer and was going to land on the Interstate behind a semi truck. At the last moment he spotted the radio controlled lights of the Terry, MT airport that the UAL 930 crew had activated and made a safe landing. Hoo-Rah!

That’s a cool story. Where’d you hear about it?

I followed it on the scanner as it happened. Thank heavens for angels overhead!

Wonder what channel 9 must’ve sounded like onboard. :open_mouth:

I wouldn’t be surprised if they turned it off in a situation like that.
