Good work airman

Jeez, nothing like trying to pick your way through that wx in a 7500 pound airplane. Feel sorry for those guys.

Tried to pick thier way thru the weather, after 4 hr long flight. Maybe a little gethome(or there)itus at work. Hope it turns out OK, prayers to those aboard and thier families and friends.

Yeah , I think the article said they were based out of Texas. More like it’s too-late-to-turn-back-now-itis. The sad part is by the flighttracker it looks like they made it through most of it.

Found an even better link: flightaware.com/live/flight/N446 … /KTKI/KTPA

When you give a link for a specific flight, click on the date of the flight and copy that URL for posting here.

entered the cell on the Northwest sector- The worst turbulence can normally be found there.

Please remove the extra quote tag so your post will look like this when quoted by others, thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

It looks like they entered the NW side but made it further south where the flight ended right in the middle of the line? If there is some other reference material please include.

Already did (before reading this post). That’s what I get for not proofing prior to posting!

Nice Looking Plane

Is it possible the person who apparently shot and then posted these pics, Flightaware member STEVEBARROWS, is the pilot of this aircraft? Lord be with those on board and their families.

This sucks. Not a good day when there is an accident in aviation.

I just did an airman registry search on the FAA website for a Steve Barrows. There is one registered in Texas. Here is the information.
I have omited the full mailing address. Not that anyone can’t look it up, it’s public information. I just wanted to be a little bit more respectful.

That’s jumping the gun and connecting dots that aren’t there. You may be right but what if you’re wrong?

Their last altitude is 6000 feet. Nothing else…

it appears this plane hit the worst part of that storm so i would almost think he may have been struck by lightning and then may have gone off radar but i guess the main question is how long he went on. i would say he cant be to far from where flightaware last shows he was because of the fuel . Well i guess the NTSB found more work to do .

Lighting is the least of your worries when you enter a cell.

I just saw an update on CNN, and it is not good:

Sadly, Mr. Steve Barrows has been confirmed as one of the deceased. Read this article here.

Flightaware has lost one of it’s fellow pilots.
The Names those on board are further down in the article.
