Tracking Flight Following

Why do some “Flight Following” flights get tracked and others do not? My friend always uses flight following and only some of his flights are tracked. Today both he and I made flights with flight following and to my dissapointment, neither was tracked!

What do the controllers do that causes some to be tracked and some not?

We don’t know what actions controllers take that sometimes results in us receiving some messages for VFR flights. VFR flights are not supported in our feed per FAA policy and since August 2010 they’ve done an effective job of implementing that policy.
