Tail Number Question, TN

I’ve seen a lot of aircraft on flightaware (seemingly moreso recently than ever before, but I could be dreaming that up), with registrations beginning with TN (such as TN424FX). Of course, I’m used to the most common US registration scheme, beginning with simply, N (such as N38988).
What, if anything special, does the TN denote? In my highly simplistic rationale, it seems like it could stand for Tail Number… but why?

Air taxi. For further information, search the forum.

A little more helpful response would have been to say:

Check out discussions.flightaware.com/view … ht=airtaxi for answer.

I searched the forum with no luck. Thanks for the info.

Not a problem, that’s what some of us are here for.

Here are a couple of threads that may help.

Seems to have been fairly easy to find. Don’t forget: Give a man a fish, he’s not hungry for a day. Teach a man to fish, he’ll have lots of time to drink beer.

Apparently not. See cc1229 response to my message further up this thread.

Since we aren’t fishing, why not give the help and the answer at the same time?

Replies of your nature are far from helpful to those that are not as computer savy as you are.
