tail number how do you find it

my question is how to find the tail number of a plane

It’s on the tail of the aircraft.

If you are on an airliner, the number is also located above the main entry door on the registration certificate.

On Southwest, it is as above and also on the right hand side has you enter the aircraft.

James, ignore the “wits” :unamused: . This thread might help answer your question.

If you’re looking to find the registration of an aircraft once you have the tail number, one resource is by checking out the FAA’s website: registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry … quiry.aspx

It’s a good means to find out the type of aircraft and who it belongs to. As far as military aircraft go, a good resource is Joe Baugher’s website: joebaugher.com/
It’s a pretty extensive site regarding US military aircraft and the tail number/serial numbers attached to those aircraft.

Hope this helps
