Stopped, told it to be disassociated. Won't connect now.

My second PiAware stopped being “seen” by FlightAware. I have checked and confirmed it is on my wifi, yet still no joy. I told the website to forget the receiver. I am wondering now if FlightAware will start receiving data from the unit again.

Any idea on what I might need to do to get it to reconnect to FlightAware?

What do the piaware logs say?

dump1090 is running
faup1090 is running
piaware is running
dump1090 is listening for connections on port 30005.
faup1090 is connected to port 30005.
piaware is NOT connected to FlightAware

dump1090 is NOT producing data on port 30005.

What do the piaware logs say? (Look in /tmp/piaware.out)

command not found

Rookie here so maybe I don’t know how/where to enter that.

Run “tail -50 /tmp/piaware.out” from a shell on the Pi.

As the Pi is not connecting to Flightaware, there’s nothing I can diagnose remotely.

Are you sure it’s actually connected to the Internet? Try

ping flightaware.com

unknown host

I went into startx… the graphic interface and it appears it is connected to the network.

It can’t DNS though. This means your Internet connection is incomplete, if not completely broken.

Can you ping your router’s IP? Can you ping 8.8.8.8 ?

Last week, I had this receiver in a different location and it worked flawlessly. All I had to do was hook it together and plug it in. I did enter my wifi password and it worked fine. This week, different location and it doesn’t work.

I appreciate your help. Sorry I can’t do more.

I have it plugged into my router by ethernet cable now. Will see if that connects to FlightAware.

If you manually configured anything about the network, it may be wrong for this new network.

My recollection is that I only entered wifi passwords. It worked previously at two different wifi locations. This one should be no different other than password and geography.

Should I plan on starting over with a new SD card?
