I went to visit a niece at her first ever flat and spied this very large home-brew, four-legged spider antenna on her building’s roof. Never seen anything quite like it. It looked a little worse for wear and was not exactly vertical. The elements were about 2 meters in length, so maybe it was for 2m HAM band?? I wonder how the individual got permission to chuck it up there in the first place. Or maybe they didn’t ask to begin with.

Looks like a multiband ground plane. Probably for a scanner or receiver of some sort. The 1090 “spider” is the same thing except size of elements for the band. Its pretty high! probably some good coverage.
Blimey, you could pick up an infection on that
What on earth is it supported by?
