How is the result? sir, I wanna answer for my project spider antenna

Result is same as that of its “naked wires” version. Please see following post:

QUICK SPIDER - No Soldering, No Connector

NOTE:
(1) This version with wire insulation is easier to make as you save the effort of peeling-off the wire insulation. This is particularly helpful in case of many types of coax where the core insulation is sticky and is hard to remove.

(2) Slightly warming the coax outer jacket softens it and makes it easier to insert the radials.

(3) Although 8 radials give best results, but for some users it is hard to insert 8 radials. In this case 6 or even 4 radials can be used. This will somewhat (but not much) reduced performance compared to 8 radials.

hello master, How is the measurement in theory?

At 1090 MHz, wavelength is 275 mm
1/4 wavelength = 275/4 = 69mm

Length of vertical element = 1/4 wavelength = 69 mm
Length of radials = 1/4 wavelength or larger = 69 mm or larger

thanks sir, well i wanna ask you , about this article sir Has anyone simulated/tried a wire colinear with two single loops?

How is the result of monitoring the aircraft using the antenna?

I once made it, but this antenna requires accuracy (coils are difficult to control), and with my poor skills, I could not make an accurate one, and results were poor. It is likely that someone with good skill has made a good one from that design, but no one has confirmed this.

As it is difficult to make a good performing antenna with coils by a person of average skill, I have created another design myself, which uses a Stub instead of coils. I named it V-Stub as the shape of my Stub was V, rathar than conventional U.

As the V-Stub does not have any coils, it does not require as high degree of accuracy as the coils requirs. It is therefore easy for a person of average skill to make a successful V-Stub.

Sir, it seems that there have been a lot of ADSB antenna manufacturing experiments that you did, if I may ask for advice from you, to choose to make the best ADSB antenna from all your experiments. I’m working on my thesis, but I’m confused about which antenna to choose.

recommend 1 antenna that is best in your opinion and easy to make

SPIDER
Very easy to make by a beginner as it is relatively much less sensitive to dimensional errors.compared to all other types of antennas. However it is NOT high gain, but is good for ADSB if used with short length of Coax, or with an RF Amplifier / LNA for longer lengths of Coax.

thank you sir, you helped me so much maybe it looks like I should make a spider antenna

For a beginner’s first DIY antenna, the Spider is the best. Try to keep length of coax between spider ad receiver (DVB-T or ProStick) less than 15 feet / 5 meters

The spider, being a 1/4 wave ground plane, also makes a good reference antenna against which to compare other antennas.

I’m going to ask the stupid question: if you have it, could you use bare copper wire inserted into the outer jacket instead of stripping a coax core?

Stupid questions don’t exist  , bare copper wire will do fine.

YES, you can use bare copper wire, or even straightened paper clips, as radials inserted into the outer jacket. :slightly_smiling_face:

That last picture looks exactly like what I was thinking. I have tons of RG6 that I never used in my old house.

Sir, can you help me to simulate a spider antenna in 4nec2. like the antenna you’ve simulated before
