It appears that a single engine plane has landed on a major Toronto highway tonight.
Aircraft was a locally based Cherokee with a high time pilot on board.
Aircraft successfully avoided two sets of Hydro lines, bridges and overhead signs - very nice job!!
Cherokee was on approach to runway 33 when his engine quit - he landed on the 407 about a mile and a half from the airport.
Buttonville, located just North of Toronto - is mostly GA with the odd biz jet movement - but is the 10th busiest airport in Canada - this summer had two fatal accidents - a Cirrus, and then a Cessna 172.
So very nice to read about a safe landing.
