Skyview after update to (unreleased testing version of) 3.7.2: "Refused to connect"

I just upgraded my Raspberry Pi using: “sudo apt-get dist-upgrade”

It appears I also upgraded my PiAware software, too… perhaps to 3.7.2.

I can no longer bring up Skyview in a browser: “Refused to connect”

Any help please?

Not yet out.

88-dump1090-fa-statcache.conf 89-skyaware978.conf 90-javascript-alias.conf

Sorry… that didn’t paste so well…

It’s explained how to do it properly with the link.

Fix it like this:

sudo rm /etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled/89-skyview978.conf
sudo systemctl restart lighttpd

@obj Just renaming skyview to skyaware in this instance leads to duplication of configuration files.
You’ll have to include something to delete the old version from conf-enabled folder.

I wouldn’t use lighty-disable-mod as that fails when the file in conf-available is missing.
(which is a very sad behaviour)
Using lighty-disable-mod instead of just deleting the symlink has lead to problems with configuration files before when purging/removing the package.

Looking better on the map now… thank you!

Look at this entry:
[2019-09-13 13:16 EDT] run-apt-get(10857): dump1090-fa is already the newest version (3.7.2).

You have this package source which i don’t have.

That shouldn’t be there unless you want to test stuff

Not really wanting to test… I just ran my standard upgrade commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo clean
sudo autoremove

and the 3.7.2 package came through… I was not ready for it.

That package source, i have no idea where you have that from.
It shouldn’t be there i believe.

It was an automated pull… I did not specifically request it.

Ok seems you have that additional file because you are on the sd-card image.
That’s interesting.

I do thank you for helping me get my Skyview map back.

I’m just not sure what else I just inherited!

Yes… I am definately 3.7.2 now.

Yeah i saw, and your logs said as much.

Was just confused why you were getting 3.7.2 and i was not
Seems they have introduced a mechanism to test their new release on a (random?) subset of sd-card image installs.

Skyview 3.7.2 as well.

Probably you are correct. I have tried to force mine to update and it says:

3.7.2 is not yet released and is not present in the standard repository. You appear to have the testing repository configured for some reason; this is only intended for FlightAware use (though the open nature of PiAware’s development means that it’s visible externally).

Please remove and reinstall all piaware-related packages, or reimage with 3.7.1

We do not support 3.7.2 while it is in the testing phases and 3.7.2 is likely to get retagged as we fix problems (such as exactly this one, which was mid-testing!)
