Hi guys,
I’m currently tracking the flight KL591 from Amsterdam to Johannesburg
and I noticed a very significant drop in speed (to 698km/h). I don’t have any aviation knowledge whatsoever and was hoping someone could maybe explain

I think you have seen a measurement error, when checking is is on it’s normal speed again.
If you check the indivual log, you will find the single entry.
Seem to be a tracking error, not really an aircraft problem
If you look on the map that was the time where the tracking moved fro a “green” to a “white” line. I assume tracking was lost. at this time:
