I recently purchased an aircraft (October 09) and I was wondering how long it takes to show the correct information on FlightAware. The FAA registry has been updated.

Congrats and welcome to FA. It can take some additional time for the FAA to update the aircraft data feed that FA receives as opposed to the online registry.
Don’t know why this occurs, seems to be an aberration in the FAA’s system and you’re not the first to comment on it.
The FAA publishes a new registration database weekly, but it generally takes a few weeks after updates appear on their website for them to appear in the downloadable database.
