It is not Monday afternoon yet, so it is not surprising that the bug fixes are not visible to you.
Sorry, I misread the message to say the tweaks had already been released.

The beta testing point is well made. I have been a software development professional for over 20 years, and one of the first considerations in a major software release is that the user experience should be impacted as little as possible. At a minimum there should have been plenty of advanced notice with some previews of what to expect rather than just making the release and then letting everybody know about all of the great things that have been done. If there was such an announcement or preview of what was to come, I certainly missed it.
I absolutely agree. Would be cool to have the new style as a “Modern theme”, and the old one as “Classic theme”.
I prefer the old look, even if this one can be re-arranged, the parts cannot be resized and. I’m not a fan of the graph styles, they are too flat to show any decent jump in performance, I also miss the colours of the coverage map, now it’s all blue and harder to distinguish where your hot spots are.
Well, since the Monday afternoon (5/8) changes, it is better but there is still some work to do.
The good:
AIRCRAFT REPORTED windows now (somewhat) uniquely named.
CONFIGURE window now contains DEVICE COMMANDS (at least for me)
Most but not all date labels correct for UTC minus sites. What is not is the “longest streak” when the longest streak is continuing. My longest streak is date stamped yesterday.
The bad:
Antenna height still says “sea level” rather than “terrain”
Hourly Received Reports mouse over still truncated on right side (23:00 hour)
Feeder Check in only shows the piaware 5 minute handshake. Many of us used the old “received data” field when away from the location to see if the piaware was alive and well. If it was other than “a few seconds ago” then likely there was trouble on the site end.
There is another problem here in that if the page is left up and not refreshed, the time last seen will sometimes increment. I nearly panicked when I returned to the page after several hours away and saw "Last Feeder Check in: 5 hours ago. " When refreshing the page manually the check in field changed to “3 minutes ago” Other information such as Aircraft Reported and Positions Reported was five hours old before my refreshing the page.
The confusing and somewhat foolish:
If I access the page without being logged in, the Last Seen Online time varies greatly from when I am logged in. As I write this, while logged out: 14 hours ago, while logged in: a few seconds ago (or a few minutes ago.) It is difficult to tell what actually causes this number to change.
Under the green button for “Flightaware” the data is “Connected to Flightaware and logged in.” Since these buttons don’t appear if one is not logged in, what else could it say?"
Under the map in small type is the message “last updated a few seconds ago.” Since the page is (mostly) static, this information is hardly useful for, well, more than a few seconds. Couldn’t this contain an actual time stamp as well as a reference as to what was updated? Was it the database, the website, the page I’m viewing?
Thanks for listening.
is there a way to reset the movable boxes back to how you set them for the new layout?
Mine are all over the place and having great difficulty to move them back to a more usable/origional layout.
@tdrane, thanks for the input. The height label and mouse-over truncation are on our list to fix. I’ve also capture your input on the usability issues with confusing/unclear timestamps; we’ll work on making this easier to understand.
@MrCaLi, as a work-around you can clear your browser’s local storage to clear the settings. For example in Chrome, there are instructions here: stackoverflow.com/questions/9404 … calstorage You want to clear the leftRail and rightRail values under flightaware.com.
Thanks for continued improvements.
Keep Calm and Carry On!
just for the users. looks like the calculations for NEARBY SITES and not conforming to Median Stats
Example.
Site 1 has been inactive for 3/4 days.
on the old layout the flights in this module were Median based, which was the last 7 days figures.
so the last 7 days are:
0,0,0,1142,1177,1233,1235
the Median should be: 1142 but the layout shows 1,233.
flightaware.com/adsb/stats/user/gi4bwm
https://www.conligwx.org/files/median1.JPG
https://www.conligwx.org/files/median2.JPG
to a Mathematician the stats are incorrect using the weeks median values. Perhaps I am wrong is surmising the values are suppose to me Median, as they were before but it looks like they are borked to me if 3 days of 0 values are not inclusive.
I have escalated this to Eric who has pasted it onto the developers to check.
I would like to see the Aircraft and Positions reported windows with a option to expand out so I can see a full 2 weeks like before. I used to compare this week with last week at a glance, not the case now.
On my iPad the date above each day is missing.
Coverage graph needs different colors, I thought it was just fine the way it was.
Nearby Sites section seems to have a lot of wasted space. Before on my iPad I could scroll to the bottom and see 19 nearby sites and 13 flights listed above them. Now I can only see 10 nearby sites of the 25.
Perhaps if the month in the Joined column and minute(s) and seconds in the Last column of the Nearby Sites section are abbreviated it would help with the wasted space.
Mark
perhaps im missing something but the 30 day ranking doesn’t show where i rank? i presume its somewhere in the middle of those listed?
edit:it worked once but once again is broke.

With the new redesigned page i can’t remove a feeder site from my account
Are you sure you’d like to remove this feeder site from your account? It will no longer show up under your stats page, and any stats accumilated in the future will not be associated with your account.
Keeps on hanging at the second page after i click remove
Yes, and the weekday would be useful, too, so as to compare apples with apples, i.e. this monday with the two mondays before that.
And black text and white backbround is easier on the eye, too. I have to admit I have stopped looking at my stats regularly since the redesign…
Still no auto-refresh…
This is scheduled to be fixed in the production release this afternoon.
Eric, Is FlightAware going to do anything about the slowness of the webpage loading.
there are plenty of optimizations you could do for the site.
Please load my page into gtmetrix.com/ and see for your self.
Fully Loaded Time 14.2s ???
Total Page Size 1.16MB
We’re focusing on the functionality bugs at the moment. We’ll look at performance tuning after that. Thanks for the report.
My first impression when seen the new layout was “wow - so much more info”, but as I’ve spent more time with it, I find it slower to find what I want to see. eg. previously if you picked a time on a graph, you’d get data corresponding to all traces at that time. eg. ‘current, previous 24, 7-day average’. Where as now you need to be very careful to only move the mouse vertically to see values for that time.
Mousing over the “green” buttons on the left of the Site Info Panel gives you the same info that is displayed on the right.

Version
I currently have an issue where I set my antenna height, saved it, then hit “Configure Height” again - the result is it just sits there trying to load.
The graphs (aircraft/positions reported) show a trace heading to zero for the current day. This always make me think my Pi is broken and not feeding.
On the SkyView page, is there any way (other than looking at the IP) of seeing which feeder I’m looking at?
Another batch of fixes is slated for release this afternoon (Houston time):
Just a quick note to confirm that feeder removal does now work, thanks Eric.
On my side I see still a glitch:
As you can see “Hourly Collection (-3)” and “Hourly Reports (-3)” are incompatible.
Actually I’m in a** UTC-3 **zone but Hourly Reports is OK and Hourly Collection subtracts 3 (more) hours from the bottom graph…
Had seen some pages from USA and it doesn´t happen the same miscalculation.
Can you please look at this mismatch?
Thanks!
