LONDON - British Airways PLC said Tuesday it is in talks with Australian airline Qantas Airways Ltd. about a potential merger.
In a statement released Tuesday in response to speculation, BA said it is exploring a potential merger “via a dual-listed company structure.”
The two airlines are already partners in the oneworld global alliance, which brings together 10 of the world’s carriers including Japan Airlines.
BA adds that there is no guarantee a deal will be reached and that it will make further announcements when appropriate.
