ProFeeder appears to be linked to someone elses account?

I just hooked up my pro feeder. I can see aircraft when going to the feeders address on my network. However when I go to my page it shows upnas someone in Kansas. Im in Florida. How do you fix that? Also when I use the link for FlightAware to find the feeder it says no new stations found. Thanks.

Sounds to me that the Feeder-ID is set incorrect.

Is it a Flight Feeder provided by Flightaware of your own setup?
In first case, contact FA directly via adsbsupport@flightaware.com

Yes, I purchased it from them. I have sent a email to them so hopefully monday I will hear something back. Thank you!

I have the same problem!

I purchased a FlightFeeder Pro from the FlightAware website. I set it up today but have been unable to associate it with the FlightAware app; the app never discovers the ADS-B receiver/FlightAware Pro, no matter how often I retry discovery. I also don’t see a flashing green LED on the FlightAware Pro. Should I?

As part of trying to solve this problem I clicked on the ā€œgo to my ADS-B statistics pageā€ button in the PiAware status webpage which (in theory, if I understood other postings :-)) would allow me to configure the account. But, unfortunately, I’m taken to someone else’s FlightAware ADS-B statistics page!

I’m sorely tempted to open the FlightAware Pro, remove the micro SD card, and re-install PiAware.

But, I’ll give FlightAware support a chance before I do that! So, I’ve sent an email to the support email address. Hopefully I’ll get a response in the next day or two.

Same exact issue here as well. Mine goes to some guy that hasn’t been active in years and is in Kansas. Im in Florida. Other than that it works great. I’m sure they can fix it. I just wish they had weekend support haha. Hopefully we will both hear back soon!

Kansas? That’s where the account attached to my Pro appears to be located! Dodge City, to be precise.

Does the name of the user account attached to your Pro begin with ā€œBā€ and end with ā€œEā€? It’d be wild if both of our Pros were associated with the same user!

Oh wow. Same here. It must be some default thing for new flight feeders I guess.

Yep. It looks like all three are uploading with the same credentials.

If you look at the coverage graph for the past few days, you can see it first came online with some real local data on 1 MAY. Then the Florida station came online, causing the huge spike in reception 200+ nm SE towards Florida. Then the third statin came online, probably long range to the west.

Interesting, and I’m sure they will sort it out Monday.

Regards,
-Dan

It is a new site, registered May 2nd, but the account is already registered 17 years ago.
It is set up with a Raspberry and latest Piaware 10.

Looks like it’s messed up based on your feeder IDs
Contact Flightaware via mail as suggested to get it clarified.

Did you ever hear back from FlightAware?

Not yet, but it’s still early. FlightAware’s HQ is in Texas, which means that (as I type this) it’s not yet 9am for them.

I read another post that says FlightAware uses the FlightFeeder Pro MAC address to associate the Pro to a user account. You may want get your Pro’s MAC address.

Just curious, did your Flight Feeder Pro come with an SD Card? I was told to take my feeder apart and remove the SD card to re-flash it however there is no SD Card inside of it.

Never mind I found the SD card after all.

Yeah, it minor pain (very minor) to open the Pro, remove the display, and then remove the PI in order to gain access to the Micro SD card. And then I realized I needed to download the PiAware image with LCD support! I’m going to try to enable SSH so that I can access the Pro remotely; if I need to make any changes to the configuration in the future I really don’t want to have to go through the open/remove screen, remove PI, etc., etc., etc.

I am flashing mine now. Had to run and pick up a micro SD reader at best buy. Should be back up and running here shortly.

Hopefully you are having better luck than me. I have appeared to brick my feeder.

I had to dig through my drawer of old USB devices to locate a micro SD reader! I really should go through that drawer and ewaste the devices that I’ll never use… hmmm… you never know when you’ll need a 1GB USB 2.0 flash drive!

It seems like it took longer than usual for the Pro’s LCD screen to show the pi’s boot process after restarting. So, be patient after powering it up! I missed the fact that there’s a different PiAware image with LCD support the first time I downloaded the image.

I also found it interesting that the FlightAware app now knows about the Pro, without my needing to do the ā€œset up a new ADS-B receiverā€ step.

If this works for you as well then you should now be able to tap on the receiver in the ā€œMy receiversā€ list and then configure/fine tune the lat, lon, and altitude. Giving it the correct lat/lon/altitude is crucial for MLAT support. To do this, tap on your receiver, then tap on the ā€˜location’ item. Although there doesn’t appear to be a way to manually enter/type the lat/lon of the receiver, I was able to pan/zoom the map around and successfully placed the little blue receiver icon right on top of my house.

Let me know if you have the same success.

Did you download/install the ā€œPiAware with LCD display supportā€ image?

Good news mine is working now. I had to re-do the flash for some reason but now it is working and linked to my account.

That’s great news! Hopefully anyone else with this problem has been as successful!
