Hi, does anyone know if we’re getting a PiAware 10 this year?
Do not know, but guess that most likely it will be released after Raspberry Pi OS Trixie (Debian 13) is released.next year.
What improvements are you expecting? Is 9.0x not working properly for you?
What’s the reason for not having a PiAware 9 image? Easy to update from 8.2, I know and I did, just curious.

What’s different in version 10? I checked github and didn’t see anything in the chnagelogs.
Piaware:
Nothing right now, but it is a development version, and changes will be added in many steps. To incorporate these changes, at each change, I will need to enter the cloned folder, issue command sudo git pull
to update the source code, then rebuilt the package using updated source code.
dump1090-fa:
Same as described above for piaware, except that the source code is now compatible to use gcc-14 compiler, which is now used in Debian 13 Trixie, and latest versions of Fedora, and Archlinux. The standard version of dump1090-fa is compatible to gcc-12 compiler, and compilation fails on above noted OS.
See any useful improvements or is this just a shell to be enhanced later?
The placing of map and table windows one above other instead of side by side is good enhancement on Phone due to phone’s width being narrow compared to it’s height.
Other than that, I did not notice any improvement except ver 10.0~dev is compatable to compiler gcc-14, and hence makes building the package / binary possible on Debian 13 trixie, Fedora 41 and Arch Linux 2025.
Be patient, other enhancement are expected gradually. There is no hurry as Raspberry Pi OS Trixie is unlikely before last quarter of 2025.
