Been submitting data to Flightaware for a couple of weeks now. Getting familiar with data charts but am unsure what the ‘other’ positions and aircraft refer to.
Know of ADS-B and MLAT but how are these other signals obtained?

“other” reports are everything that doesn’t have a position, e.g. not ADS-B equipped and mlat didn’t determine a position.
