Exceptional day for me so far. It’s only 09:15 and I’ve just hit half my daily totals:
Seeing a lot more “Other” today including ground stations.
Also seeing helicopters over North Sea, which might not seem unusual, but for me that is 235nm!

I am still seeing plans now at around 380miles away
lol, just a bit! That’s pretty cool. I bet it was slow to respond when you pulled up the tracks. Was that 24 hours or the default 8?

My aerial in the loft, Mid/South UK… Not seeing any of this myself.
Location is so important for this sort of thing. I’m only a few miles away from the MTG site and here’s a plot from them both for the last 24 hours. I’m just very lucky to be in a prime spot with a good clear view to the horizon in all directions.
A few days of tropo does wonders to the global rating as well although it also gives me a horrible ‘other’ figure which I can only assume is due to the ground stations I’m seeing.
Decent conditions today, good propagation down to the south east.
Yeah, I noticed some 'planes in the English channel, which is unusual for me.
Tropo continuing again this morning here in West Country UK.
I’m currently seeing ground station TXLU00 which is well below my regular horizon and always a good sign of lift conditions.
Hepburn Tropo Index prediction for Europe suggests conditions may be up for the rest of the weekend
Yes, that’s why you can see those.
I had something similar to this a few weeks ago, where I picked up an aircraft over Ireland, way out of my normal reception range - I put it down to an error, but maybe not?
Is this something just because close to the north sea?
I did not see any of this here in Germany
Yeah it’s benefitted by the sea.
The reflection angles can’t be too steep so you need a view direction that parallels the earth (or ocean).

You have too much terrain to really see ducting with ADS-B, pretty sure.
Was a good morning for me with tropo
