Newbie ADS-B statistics help

I have had my PiAware up and running for about 3 days. I have been looking for clarification on what some of the statistics mean. What is the difference between Positions reported and Aircraft Seen? Is my PiAware reporting multiple positions for a single aircraft as it passes overhead? As of right now I have seen 508 aircraft but Position Reported13,000+ times.

Basically it means 508 planes have sent their position 26 times, each.

“Aircraft seen: 1,587
Positions reported: 77,353”
