I put it in the middle in case the frame of the screen (I think it’s painted aluminum) causes interference and it works well.

I used one of those homemade spider antennas which worked well but not as good as the PCB one does.

 
Have you tried this 8-legged Spider? For me this performed better than PCB antenna.
