MLAT on 978 UAT

I have two separate radios, one on 1090 and another on 978. The MLAT works fine on 1090 radio but for some reason, it never does on my 978 UAT. Was wondering, is it because it doesn’t work on that frequency?

UAT always provides GNSS/GPS position so never needs MLAT.
