Ok then at least for the howtos you can still edit, make them a wiki when you create them. (It is the little wrench symbol after clicking the 3 dots)
Edit: Nvm maybe i misunderstood the wiki function. Anyway let’s hope i can edit my airspy posts in the future.

When you start new process, use new thread. It has both options (Jessie & Stretch) for Piawsre SD card image.
To find which one you have, give following command
cat /etc/os-release

Just wait till your wiki is a month or two old, then try to edit. Dont forget to tell me the result

Yes, something like this is in order, surely there is a way to give I certain user different rights. Maybe it is enough to put them in the regular group, I think I once was and could edit titles and move threads. I still wish I could sometimes when someone posts an adsb question in the General category…#monk
Edit:
You have to be a Leader: “This badge is granted when you reach trust level 4. You’re a leader in this community as selected by staff, and you set a positive example for the rest of the community in your actions and words here.” I pretty sure there are a few user here where one could argue that this applies
Here the results of my new attempt

Did you enter a password after this command?
sudo passwd www-data
Seems like you may have not put that password you used in the .sh files?
(echo 'xxxxxxxxxxx' | sudo -S piaware-config rtlsdr-gain "$1"
)
The xxxxx needs to be the password you entered when being prompted by the first command.

Well, I just tried and could add a point in the last line in the first post of the airspy thread, so maybe it is possible to edit a wiki after all. And it is older than one month (edit: two month seems to be the limit), so maybe the limit does not exist with this type of post. Still think the “owner” of the thread should be the onyl one to able to edit it.

In forums of Planefinder, Flightradar24, and Radarbox24, the editing of a post is never blocked.
This has resulted in member contributed howtos and guides getting regularly updated with upgrades of hardware & software, and no user ends up in trouble due to use of outdated howto or guide

When you start new process, first delete all the files and folders you have created in the old process.
I strongly recommend to download latest Piaware SD Card image (PiAware on Raspbian Linux 3.6.3 ZIP) , and re-image microSD card with it to have a clean install to start with. Dont follow procedure in old thread which uses "user www-data"
. Instead use new thread:
.
For Piaware SD Card Image, use Option 1. It covers both Jessie based and Stretch based Piaware SD card images:
1. Piaware SD Card image
If you download latest Piaware image, it is Stretch, but if you are using old one, it may be either Jessie or Stretch. To check version of your existing / old Piaware, issue following command
cat /etc/os-release
